Jalandhar, June 05,2025 (The Hind Canadian Times) : Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, marked World Environment Day with an impactful celebration organized by the Eco Club in collaboration with the District Administration, Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST), Punjab Biodiversity Board, Forest Department, and the National EduTrust of India. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and emphasized the institution's ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship through various green initiatives. Mrs. Amninder Kaur, ADC (G), graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Sh. Jarnail Singh Bath, Sh. Hargun from the Forest Department, Sh. Surjit Lal, Secretary, District Red Cross and Sh. Ashok Sahota were present as esteemed guests. A symbolic Tree Plantation Drive was conducted, followed by the administration of a Green Pledge to inspire eco-conscious action among attendees. Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Eco Club Incharge, told about the urgent need to Beat Plastic Pollution and also conducted the stage proceedings. The event saw enthusiastic participation from Dr. Urvashi Mishra, Dean Student Council, Ms. Harmanu, NSS Incharge, Dr. Meenu Talwar, Dean Resident Scholars, along with Madam Anju and Simran. The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Sh. Surjit Lal, who appreciated the collective efforts of all stakeholders in promoting environmental awareness and action.
