Punjab Government to give nagar kirtan a grand ‘Guard of Honour’ for the first time: Deepak Bali
Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat, Advisor to the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Deepak Bali, Secretary Dr. Abhinav Trikha, and MLAs Balkar Singh and Inderjit Kaur Mann were also present.
The Minister said that special arrangements would be made for cleanliness, langar service, flower showers, and drinking water along the entire route. He added that the Nagar Kirtan would be accorded a grand welcome in all cities, towns, and villages it passes through.
Bains further announced that from November 1 to November 18, light and sound shows based on the life and teachings of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will be held in these districts. He appealed to all devotees to participate in large numbers and seek blessings.
Directing officials to ensure all necessary arrangements in accordance with religious protocol, the Minister also presented the official logo dedicated to the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary to officers of all three districts.
Advisor Deepak Bali said that for the first time ever, the Punjab Government will accord a ceremonial ‘Guard of Honour’ to the Nagar Kirtan upon its arrival in each district. He added that elaborate preparations are underway to make these celebrations truly memorable.
Among those present were Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Amit Panchal, Deputy Commissioner SBS Nagar Dr. Ankurjeet Singh, Police Commissioner Jalandhar Dhanpreet Kaur, SSP Jalandhar Harvinder Singh Virk, SSP Kapurthala Gaurav Dhura, SSP SBS Nagar Dr. Mehthab Singh, and several other dignitaries and senior officers from various departments.
