Distribution of Minority Cards Among Christian Community in Narowal District

Special Participation of Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Provincial Minister Ramesh Singh Arora


Lahore, February 23: Following the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a ceremony was held at the Sports Gymnasium in Narowal district under the auspices of the Department of Human Rights and Minority Affairs, to distribute minority cards among the Christian community. A total of 2,785 families received minority cards while Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Punjab, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, and Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Professor Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry, attending as special guests.

During his address, Provincial Minister Ramesh Singh Arora stated that the distribution of minority cards across the province is being initiated under the guidance of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The issuance of the minority card is a commendable step by the Chief Minister, which will greatly aid in eradicating poverty. Under this program, a total of 2,785 minority cards will be distributed in Narowal district. Approximately 6,000 applications were received, and the cards are being distributed based on merit to the 2,785 eligible candidates. He further emphasized that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is well aware of the issues faced by the people of Punjab, which is why, after launching the Kisan Card, Livestock Card, and now the Minority Card, she has won the hearts of the people of Punjab.

A Local Journalist also appreciated the Govt.of Punjab for this initiative. 

Speaking at the event, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal stated that the Pakistan Muslim League (N) government is a people-friendly government that has always worked for the welfare of the public. Serving the people is the guiding principle of our government, and no one can stop us from doing so. The future of the country's progress and prosperity is inherently linked to PML-N. He added that the PML-N government believes in practical actions and that the welfare and well-being of the people, along with addressing their difficulties, is our top priority.

At the end of the ceremony, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Muhammad Waseem Butt, and Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, distributed minority cards to individuals from the Christian community.
