Provincial Minister Ramesh Pakistan Punjab Singh Arora Meets Azerbaijani Ambassador Khazar Farhadov

Detailed Discussion on Interfaith Harmony and Protection of Religious Minorities' Rights


Lahore, (Ali Imran Chattha) : Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs, Ramesh Singh Arora, ( President  of PSGPC, Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbhand Committee ) held a meeting with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Khazar Farhadov, at his camp office. The discussion focused on bilateral relations, interfaith harmony, issues concerning religious minorities, education, health, and other important matters. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.

During the meeting, the Provincial Minister informed the Ambassador about the steps taken by the Punjab government to protect the minority community, particularly regarding the issuance of minority cards. He stated, "The purpose of the Minority Cards is to facilitate the protection of the rights of minority individuals, while ensuring the protection of religious minorities throughout the province." Additionally, Ramesh Singh Arora proposed to benefit from Azerbaijan's experience in the tourism sector.

Azerbaijani Ambassador Khazar Farhadov appreciated the ongoing development projects and public welfare initiatives in Punjab. He stated, "Azerbaijan considers Pakistan as its close friend and brotherly country." This meeting is expected to enhance and improve relations and cooperation between the two nations. At the end of the meeting, the Provincial Minister presented a commemorative shield to Ambassador Khazar Farhadov.
