The second day of the World Punjabi Conference Lahore is in full swing.


Lahore, 20 Jan 2025 (The Hind Canadian Times) : At the inaugural function of the ongoing Punjabi Conference in Lahore, Dr. Deepak Manmohan addressed the gathering. Apart from him, Sehajpreet Mangat and other storytellers and writers presented their views. After this, Baba Najmi presented poetry. 

On this occasion, Doli Guleria, who was present, referred to her mother Surinder Kaur, a Punjabi cuckoo, about her visit to Pakistan 30 years ago. She said that in 1999, when she went to her ancestral home Arya Nagar, Lahore, she sat on a cement bench built on the roof and remembered the childhood days spent with her elder sister Prakash Kaur and her parents. At the time of the Partition of India, she was 17 years old. She used to sing with her elder sister on the radio. 

After the function, the guests who came to the conference visited some philosophical places of Lahore and also did some shopping. Some met their friends and shared their views. People came from far away to meet Gill Sahib, Sehajpreet Mangat and Jamal Sahib. After this, the guests attended the 35th anniversary of the local newspaper "Bhulekha" which was organized at Pilag. "Bhulekha" newspaper is the first newspaper of Punjabi Shahmukhi. Bilal Mudassar Butt is its editor. Renowned Punjabi singer Arif Lohar was also present at this event and a great Punjabi poet Tahira Sira presented her poetry on this occasion. Tomorrow, on the last day of the conference, papers will be read by various writers from 11 am.
