Jalandhar, July 2 (The Hind Canadian Times) : Jalandhar Police Commissioner Satinder Singh has been made the patron of Surjit Hockey Society. According to the constitution of Surjit Hockey Society, there is a rule to make Jalandhar Police Commissioner as the patron of the society.  Today the society's L.R.  Nair and Lakhwinder Pal Singh Khaira (Working President), Iqbal Singh Sandhu (CEO)), Surinder Singh Bhapa (General Secretary), Narinder Pal Singh Judge (Vice President) and Ranbir Singh Toot (Secretary) together handed over the Patron's appointment letter to Jalandhar Police Commissioner Satinder Singh and congratulated him on the achievements of Surjit Hockey Society and the 43rd Indian Oil to be held in October.  Surjit told about the preparations for the hockey tournament.  On this occasion, Jalandhar Police Commissioner Satinder Singh accepted the help of Surjit Hockey Society and said that Surjit Hockey Society is a well-known hockey organization of the country, which has always contributed significantly in the field of hockey.  He further said that more than 125 players from 4 years to 18 years are participating in the Surjit Hockey Academy started by the society, the way Olympians, Dronacharya awardees and experienced coaches are training the players will surely give good results in the future.  The Police Commissioner assured the members of the society to provide all possible help for the development of the society and the game of hockey.  Jalandhar DCP Manpreet Singh was also specially honored on this occasion.
