Celebrations on the occasion of Vaisakhi Mela have begun at Gurdwara Panja Sahib


Lahore, 11 April 2025 (The Hind Canadian Times) : Celebrations on the occasion of Vaisakhi Mela have begun at Gurdwara Panja Sahib and Gurudwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur under the auspices of the Evacuee Trust  Property Board (ETPB) Ministry of religious Affairs & interfaith harmony Sikh pilgrims from all over the world, including India, offered special prayers according to religious rituals, and langar was arranged according to religious traditions.Sikh women helped in preparing and arranging the food in Gurudwara Sahaban, while someone did other tasks including cleaning the utensils.

According to the press releases issued by the Spokesperson of the Evacuee Trust  Property Board (ETPB) the leader of the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, Ravinder Singh Sarna, who came from India, while expressing his views on the occasion of his visit to Pakistan, said that Sikhs coming from all over the world, including India, are very happy to have darshan of their Gurudwara Sahib in Pakistan. He said that we are very grateful to the Government of Pakistan and the Trust Board administration for providing accommodation, medical and best travel facilities.

The leader of the Delhi Gurudwara Management Committee, Sardar Daljit Singh Sarna, said that the administration has made excellent arrangements for the pilgrims at the Gurudwara Sahib. Although the number of pilgrims has doubled, there is no shortage of our hospitality in Pakistan. 

In Hassan Abdal, the pilgrims also visited the tomb of Baba Wali Gandhari. The ETPB administration decorated Gurudwara Panja Sahib Hassan Abdal with colorful and beautiful lights.

The district administration has made strict security arrangements around the Gurudwara. According to the board spokesperson Ghulam Mohiuddin, due to the doubling of the number, two groups of Sikh pilgrims formed under the supervision of Security Officer Asim Chaudhry will reach Nankana Sahib from Gurudwara Panja Sahib and Gurudwara Darbar Sahib today The security of the pilgrims has been made foolproof with the help of the district administration, police and other institutions. New scanners have been installed at all security points. WAPDA is providing continuous power supply to the Gurudwaras.
