Punjab, 09 March 2025 (The Hind Canadian Times) : One day educational trip was organised by the PG Department of Mathematics for the students of B.A/B.Sc and M.Sc (Mathematics) to visit the IIT, Ropar under DBT star scheme of colleges. The contingent of 52 students was led by two faculty members Dr. Gagandeep and Dr. Deepali. It was a knowledgeable trip where the students got the opportunity to learn in an educative and conducive environment. Firstly they visited the Central Library at IIT, Ropar. Students visited journal section which was containing different and latest journals and magazines. After collecting all rare and valuable information, students headed towards Mathematics Department of the University. They visited departmental library of Mathematics which was completely occupied with pure and applied Mathematics books. Students got opportunity to interact Associate Prof. Dr. Jitendra Kumar, Head of Mathematics department and collected information according to their relevant field of interest from sir. They also visited Mathematics department. After that, students visited Mata Naina Devi Mandir and Anandpur Sahib Gurdwara. They enjoyed beautiful sites and weather there. On returning they had lavish dinner at Haveli, Phagwara. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the department for the successful visit and said that the studies done outside the classroom are a life time experience and it has become a necessity now. Thus the trip was a fruitful and memorable experience of their lives.
